The Llano County/Highland Lakes Relay for Life 2009 Committee will hold its first organizational meeting on Thursday, Aug. 28, at 5:30 p.m.

The meeting will be held in the meeting room of the Llano Library, 102 E. Haynie Street.

Relay for Life is a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. Funds raised through these events support local cancer patients and their families, providing a range of services including transportation, lodging, financial assistance, and emotional support.

The American Cancer Society estimates that 160 new cases of cancer will be diagnosed in Llano County in the next year.

Your support of the Relay for Life will help the American Cancer Society help those patients and their families.
