“The Logos Olympics” is the theme of this year’s parent’s night for the Logos Program at the Methodist Church in Llano.

Some special athletes straight from Beijing will be on hand to tell us about Logos as they present a fun skit and parents are informed about the program and given an opportunity to sign up.

The fun event begins in the sanctuary on Wednesday, Sept. 3 at 6 p.m. and will conclude by 7:45 p.m.

Logos is a mid-week, interdenominational event in which children and youth from grades K-12 participate in worship, recreation, Bible study and family time (dinner).

The four part design comes from Acts 2:42 as a model for the early church. The program has been offered continuously at Lutie Watkins Memorial United Methodist Church in Llano since 1995.

The Logos program begins Sept. 10. Children grades K-6 are given transportation from school. For these children, the program starts at 3:30 p.m. and concludes after dinner at 7 p.m.

The seventh and eighth grade and the Senior High program begins with dinner at 6 p.m. and lasts until 8 p.m.

Parent’s night is an opportunity to see first hand what the program is all about. A free meal will be offered for the parents as well as children and youth.

Those who come to the meeting are given a discounted price for signing up at that time. All are welcome to join this incredible night of food, fun and fellowship
