Llano County 4-H members, leaders, and supporters were recognized for their accomplishments during the 2007-2008 4-H year at the County 4-H Achievement Banquet, held at the American Legion Hall in Llano on Aug. 8.

Wayne Homesley was named Outstanding Adult Leader for his many years of service as a goat project leader and a very active member of the 4-H Adult Leaders Association. Cedar Hills Veterinary Clinic was named Friend of 4-H. Dr. Jim Jenkins, owner of Cedar Hills Veterinary Clinic, was recognized for his support of youth agriculture projects.

Outgoing President Awards were presented to John Regmund, past president of the 4-H Adult Leaders Association, and Wesley Regmund,past-president of Llano County 4-H Council.

Receiving county awards upon completion of a 4-H record book were Aaron Perkins and Cole Perkins. Wesley Regmund, Geoffrey Sanders, Amber Ward, Alex Homesley, and Blair Schorck were recognized as scholarship recipients.

Year pins were presented to “Clover Kids” who have completed the first and second grade, and award pins were presented to 4-H members who participated in district or state level 4-H contests.

The Pasture Grass Identification Team, consisting of Geoffrey Sanders,Wesley Regmund, Alex Homesley, and Dustin Merkel, was recognized for winning first place at State 4-H Roundup.

The Meats Judging Team, consisting of Walker Woolman, Trey Brooks, Chelsea Montgomery, and Monica Bigger, was recognized for placing second at State 4-H Roundup and advancing to the National Western Contest in Denver, Colorado in January of 2009.

In addition to the presentation of awards, the 2008-2009 Llano County 4-H Council officers were installed.

Officers are: Audrey Sanders, president; Aaron Perkins, 1st vice president; Clay Tarter 2nd vice president; Jessica Smarr, 3rd vice president; Bailey Price, secretary; Taylor Osbourn, treasurer; Wesley Haverlah, reporter; and Vance Bauer, parliamentarian.
