Llano Memorial Hospice is seeking volunteers to help serve patients.
In order to meet government guidelines, volunteer hours must equal at least five percent of paid staff patient hours. On that note, Llano Memorial Hospice program is looking for men and women interesting in spending some time each week to help reach that goal.
Some duties include, visiting with patients for an hour or so, running errands, reading to patients, or walking a patient’s pet.
Volunteers, who are not comfortable visiting with patients can help in other ways, such as sewing or crocheting, play a musical instrument, or any other special talent can be used.
The Llano Hospice program provides support and care for people in the last phases of incurable disease, so they may live as fully and as comfortable as possible. Hospice exists in the hope and belief that through appropriate care and the promotion of a caring community sensitive to needs, patients and their families may be free to attain a degree of mental and spiritual preparation for death.
Llano Hospice serves in Llano, Mason, San Saba and Burnet counties. Volunteers from every corner are needed.
