The 9th Annual Texas Furniture Makers Show® takes place Oct. 23 through Dec. 6, at Kerr Arts and Cultural Center (KACC) located at 228 Earl Garrett St., Kerrville.

Work on display which is available for sale ranges in price from $600 to over $50,000. “The most imposing piece is a 13’- 5” X 37” conference table with the top made from a single board of curly mahogany harvested in Honduras in 1985,” said show chair Jim Derby. “Perhaps the most ornate piece is a lighted contemporary design fabricated from acrylic plastic based on the throne chair of Egyptian Queen Hetepheres.”

Of the fifty-six artists selected to display their work, 21 new artists were qualified. “The competition is fierce,” said Derby. “Each year the criteria for selection becomes more difficult.”

Mr. Bob Pheil, Mr. Lou Quallenberg, and Mr. Jim Scallorn are among this year’s talented craftsmen to exhibit at the show.

All pieces are for sale; however, all work must remain on display for the full six week run of the exhibit.
