Fay Miller went to be with His Lord on Thursday, November 6, 2008 at Care Inn in Llano after a long battle with cancer.

He was born on June 30, 1925 to Vernon Eugene Miller and Ora Pankey Miller in Fredonia.

Fay was a World War II Veteran serving in the United States Navy on the Pacific front. On August 27, 1943, he married the love of his life, Merrilee Casner Miller, and they celebrated their love for 65years.

Ranching, along with his two sons, Frosty and Marc, in Llano, Mason, San Saba, Lampasas, Schleicher and Concho counties, Fay was known for being very diversified in many phases of agriculture and real estate.

Different aspects included cow, calf, yearlings, bred heifers, sheep, goats, enclosed hog operation, both laying hens and meat turkey, farming and trading in real estate.

One of his proudest achievements was being one of the founding members of Llano National Bank, where he served as a board member since it’s inception until his death.

Fay was a member of the Church of Christ and served several terms on the Llano Independent School Board.

Fay was an avid fisherman and hunter, but his family was primary in his life, as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Ora Miller; brother, Dallas Miller, and sisters, Lucille Shearer and Nell Harris.

Fay is survived by his loving wife, Merrilee Miller, sons and daughters-in-law, Frosty and Vicki Miller, Marc and Judy Miller, grandchildren, Heath Miller, Brittany Rabb, Faron Miller, Fara and Matt Underwood, and great grandchildren, Heather Miller, Travis, Clayton and Kyndall Rabb, Levi, Austin and Kinley Miller, Maci and Mitchell Underwood, also five nieces and nephews, cousins and a host of good and loving friends.

Funeral services were held Sunday, November 9, 2008 at Waldrope-Hatfield-Hawthorne Funeral Homes, Inc. in Llano

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to the Llano Memorial Hospital, 200 W. Ollie, Llano, Texas 78643 or to the Llano Church of Christ, 402 West Main, Llano, Texas 78643.
