A total of 18 foreclosure notices were filed in Llano County during July. Six of the notices pertained to deeds of trust secured by property in Horseshoe Bay. In July 2009, 19 foreclosure notices were filed in Llano County, 18 were filed in July 2008, and 8 were filed in July 2007.
Raw numbers of foreclosure filings sometimes inflate the number of properties facing financial problems as some foreclosure notices are repeat filings.

If you’re the kind of person who goes to the back of the book to see the ending when you’re on page eight, you’ll like this lead. Well, not the content, but your suspense glands won’t be overused.
The scrimmage was not pretty; there were times it bordered on nasty.

Ironic, yes? You inherit a team which attempted more passes in the first decade of the 21st century than Jimmie Johnson did, and you’ve got two quarterbacks, not just one, and you’re going to run more? Aren’t you spreading yourself a little thin?
Tommy Tuberville would probably say, “No,” or “Next question.” Texas Tech seems to be real glad he’s arrived, and most fans, impressed as they were with Mike Lea ...

We wrote about the victory over Florence, August 9, in last week’s News.

Dear Editor,
We received the letter from the City of Llano regarding the meeting to be held on Thursday, August 12, 2010. Unfortunately, we will not be able to attend the meeting but thought we could supply our support of retaining the Historic District ordinance with this email.
We fell in love with Llano a long time ago due to the town’s originality and historic feel.

I am a very prolific writer; week in and week out (whether or not I have anything to say), I churn out thousands of words. Unfortunately, quantity sometimes comes at the expense of quality; when I wake up Tuesday morning with five stories to write before noon (as I did last week), I leave some things out and phrase other things poorly.
