The Lake Bottom Jazz Combo, featuring Llano resident Keenan Fletcher, will make a special appearance at the Famous Fuel Coffee house Thursday, December 9, 7-9 p.m.
Fletcher has studied fiddle and violin with masters such as Johnny Gimble, Randy Elmore, and others. In addition to Fletcher on violin, the combo features Richard Golloday on piano and Ron Huntoon on guitar.

The 1860 Census for Llano County provides great insights into the earliest days following the county’s creation by the State of Texas in February, 1856. Although families of German extraction had lived in the western part of the county along the Llano River as early as 1847, it was not until around 1852 that Anglo-Americans began to settle along the western banks of the Colorado River and slightly inward around Honey Creek and Pack Saddle Mountain.

The Llano Country Opry will be staged at the Lantex Theater in Llano on Saturday, November 13. The show begins at 7:30 pm. Country music legend Claude Gray will headline the show with special guest Tommy Horton. Shan Kowert and Annie Acton, collectively known as Shannie, one of the most popular singing and songwriting duos in Texas, will perform at Songwriters in the Round, Thursday, November 4, 7-9 p.m. Admission is free.

Charlotte & Rob Wright of Llano are happy to announce the marriage of their son, Robert Francis Wright to Erica Shuntae Bills of Midland. Erica is the daughter of Lydia & Russell Bills. Their marriage ceremony was held August 14, 2010 at the Antioch Baptist Church in Midland. Sean Wright served as the best man and maid of honor was Tiffany Clay.
