The new Voter Registration Certificates, which are valid through December 31, 2013, were mailed on March 22. A large number of voter certificates were returned to the Llano County Elections Department as undeliverable. If you are registered to vote and did not receive your certificate, please contact the Elections Department at 325-247-5425 for a replacement card. Voter Registration Certificates are normally mailed at the end of December in odd numbered years.

Julie Hinton, the Llano teen that went missing on Friday, March 23, was found Wednesday, March 28 at around 4pm in Lampasas, reported the Lampasas Police Department. John Honea, 28, was arrested in the case for harboring a runaway, a misdemeanor, and according to Investigator Boswell with the Lampasas PD, other charges could be pending. There are currently no charges against Hinton.
A Llano teen has not been seen since Friday, March 23 at 1pm, when she checked out of school. Llano County Chief Deputy John Neff said that an investigation is underway in the disappearance, but he couldn’t release any details. The rodeo arena is nearing completion! Since the dirt work began last September, there has been a scurry of activity on the 88 acres west of downtown, and the target date of completion, Crawfish Festival weekend in mid-April, is fast approaching. As of this week, the outside structure is almost complete.
Commissioners worked out specifics regarding calling for bids for gas and oil leases on school lands located in Tom Green County. The issue came to the Commissioners a few months ago when the Court was approached by a private entity wanting to lease school lands to drill for oil. Llano County owns 17,600 acres of land in Tom Green County, and has had leases on the land before; however, Commissioner Johnnie Heck questioned using the former contract, due to changes in the times.< ...
After months of discussion, revisions, and negotiations, Llano County approved by resolution the new Llano County Floodplain Order. The order, which must be submitted to and approved by the Texas Water Development Board, will become effective on May 2, 2012, if given the okay by the TWDB. Hatty Sagebiel was named to Llano’s Hall of Fame last Saturday night at the Llano Chamber’s Annual Banquet. Sagebiel, 90, was honored for her tireless efforts and dedication to preserving the history of Llano, including the recording county history. Hatty is pictured above with David Willmann. Superintendent Dennis Hill said the choice possesses energy—moments after his e-mail made the official announcement on March 26, and you know that when you talk to him. In a 115-man contest, Craig Slaughter has finished Number One in the search for a Llano High School head football coach and athletic director. Hill and the selection committee will present their recommendation to the Llano ISD School Board, April 2.

March 26, 2012- Llano I.S.D is pleased to announce the selection of Craig Slaughter as the person who will be recommended to the Board of Trustees as Head Football Coach and Athletic Director. Mr. Hil expects to recommend Coach Slaughter to the Board at a special meeting on April 2.
