Hello, my name is Lisa Simpson, and I am running for Llano County Justice of the Peace Precinct 4. I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to the public. I have been married to my husband Lawton Simpson for 38 years and we have 5 adult sons and 10 Grandchildren. I have been employed with the Llano Central Appraisal district for nearly 14 years.
The City will be renewing a five year contract with our current solid waste services provider, Waste Connection Lone Star, Inc. Let’s review some important points about the service. Back door service is available for handicapped residents with prior written notice.

Three big happenings occur at Packsaddle this month! First is our Follett Book Fair starting October 9 – 17. Don’t miss all the fun, prizes, and books to purchase. Research shows that reading to a child, or a child reading independently at home, significantly improves literacy skills and helps develop life-long learning.
Our October Chamber will be at the Llano Visitor Center next Tuesday, October 15, at 5:30 PM. Hosted by the Llano Xtreme Bull Riding. Come join us and learn more about the event coming up on October 19 along with a host of other events that weekend. This weekend, October 12, two of our members will be hosting fundraisers for their non-profits.
The Fall Social for the Kingsland/Lake LBJ Chamber of Commerce is Saturday, September 28, featuring live music by John Arthur Martinez, a light buffet, open bar, door prizes and a silent auction. The Sponsor Reception is at 5:00 p.m. and general admission is at 5:30 p.m. at Cedar Skies Barn at Log Country Cove.
Thank you to everyone that came to our annual meeting last night. We are so excited about starting year number 101 in January and seeing Llano continue to grow. Just hearing the ladies that were in town this past weekend and their stories reassures the fact that we live in the friendliest town in all of Texas and the hospitality is making Llano a hill country destination.
On Monday, September 9, Becky Widner will present a hands-on acrylic Dutch and dipped pour painting demonstration from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at the Llano Fine Art Guild. Hello Toni: You have been referred to me as a resource that can answer questions I have about Medicare. I am turning 65 this December and have not discovered what I need to do to begin Medicare since I am still working? If I retire soon, do I stay on COBRA or enroll in Medicare plans?
